Where a Spa is More Than a Spa

A few weeks ago, I was invited by my hair stylist from Studio 546 to visit where he’s now doing hair and make-up. I was actually glad to find out that he has transferred to a somewhat nearer place (prior to this place, after he left Studio 546, he was cutting hair somewhere in Quezon City, Commonwealth area).

Jehjo now works for  Ban Kon Ngam Kuko Moolah Salon in West Kapitolyo, Pasig City. The place is very nice, but may be a bit hard to find since they don’t have a signage facing in-coming vehicles.

I love the place!!! It is Thai inspired, and is actually more of a spa rather than just a plain old salon. I found out that most of the furniture and decorative pieces around the place were actually shipped from Thailand (some pieces even got lost in Africa, but that’s another story). They also have a very pleasant staff that will great you every time you pass by any of them.

Actually, the spa started out as a nail salon (hence the name Kuko Moolah) until it gradually turned into this full blown spa. The place is fast evolving into something bigger, as per owner and manager Paula Bondoc. It is, as of the moment, in the process of continuous change. First time I came to the spa, it has a cozy, opium bed that, for me, was sort of a highlight when you enter the receiving area. Now, there’s an island of Thai tables, chairs, and ornaments once you enter. I gotta admit, though… once business starts kicking in, they will be needing those chairs in the middle of that area. And perhaps, more in the future. Right now, however, the spa only accept reservations.

The place has three levels, but right now, they are only using levels 2 and 3 of the whole area. It is a relaxing place with massage areas, a mani-pedi area, and salon areas for hair and make-up. They also have a treatment area where they do facials and others. In case you get hungry, they also allow you to order food located around Kapitolyo and eat it there also because they have a dining area for their customers. But soon, they will be offering food inside the spa also, so that is one thing I am really looking forward to.

So what service do you think I’d suggest you get? Well, unfortunately, I really haven’t tried any, BUT!!! If you are thinking of changing your hairstyle, do try Jehjo!!! After I’ve tried him, he has never failed to impress me. Actually, I’ve brought a lot of my friends to him, and they are all now “converts” to his cutting and hair coloring skills. Some of my female friends also prefer his make-up skills after trying him out for special events. He is our “go-to” guy every time we have special events to attend to. As for the other awesome stuff they provide, that’s gonna be for another blog soon!!!
